Conference

The National Conference is an annual event organized by SASE in the United States. It is the largest gathering of Asian heritage scientists and engineers, providing a platform for networking, professional development, and knowledge sharing. The conference features keynote speeches from industry leaders, workshops, panels, a career fair, networking events, and competitions. Attendees have the opportunity to connect with peers, professionals, and recruiters, explore job and internship opportunities, enhance their professional skills, and receive mentorship. The SASE National Conference promotes diversity, inclusion, and empowerment within the STEM community and serves as an inspiring and supportive environment for Asian heritage scientists and engineers to thrive.

To be chosen to go to National Conference, you must go through our application process. The application form is available on the SASE Instagram or GroupMe, or you can visit our Conference page for more details. The more active you are in the organization, the more likely we are to consider you for Nationals! Registration opens up in the summer.

The NorthEast Regional Conference (NERC) is the largest of the SASE regional conferences, consistently averaging approximately 500 students in attendance. It is the only regional conference to be planned and hosted exclusively by the Northeast Region as a collective of volunteers—a team of 16 students & alumni alongside the Regional Programing Coordinator— as opposed to a team at a single university. It offers a diverse variety of workshops, keynote speakers, networking events, and a career fair. These programs focus on educating and training AAPI students and professionals to empower our community to strive for diversity, inclusion, and in AAPI leadership in the workplace and beyond. Registration opens up in the spring!

National Conference is held in the fall, where SASE members and chapters from all around the country attend. NERC is held in the spring, and exclusive to SASE chapters and members in the Northeastern region, so it is smaller in scale.
